It all started with the fascination of capturing moments – documenting life as it happens… experiencing raw personal emotion.
What strengthened my love for photography even more, was experiencing the effect my work had on my clients… feeling their emotion and appreciation as they looked through the memories documented by Nuance…
I have experienced moments where tears ran down my face whilst behind my camera.. witnessing the truly incredible miracle of a new life… and I knew I found my purpose.
One of my proudest moments was when the first birth captured by me, got featured in the “Baba and Kleuter Magazine”… I looked at the photos in the magazine and re-lived every special moment and I understood more deeply what Birth Photography is all about. It was only one day later, when I realised I was pregnant, and so another passion began to grow: Breastfeeding… photographing breastfeeding mothers and their nurslings.
I believe that my breastfeeding experience (2 years and 9 months and still going strong) places me in a position to create the perfect atmosphere and have enough patience to make not only the photos, but also the photo shoot, unforgettable.
I am also very lucky to have been chosen by the support group, “Normalise Breastfeeding, SA Campaign” – supporting mothers who are discriminated against when feeding their babies in public – to be their photographer for feed-in events.
I am looking forward to start this journey to support and normalise breastfeeding.
A personal relationship with my clients is important to me, as I enjoy journeying through all the milestones of life… maternity, birth, breastfeeding, newborn, milestones, toddlers…. seeing children grow up… capturing life’s Nuances as it unfolds in front of my lens….
My belief is that a picture should invoke an emotion – bring to life a feeling… explain without any words or sound something deeper and more special than words could ever say… pictures should speak louder than words.
